DR. MARY SMITH
For over 30 years Dr. Smith has committed her talent and insight to the dental community. Her leadership and professional reputation is a catalyst for progressive dentistry. She is a spokesperson for various dental organizations including the American Dental Association and the Spokane District Dental Society.
Upon graduation from the University of Minnesota, Smith quickly established herself as a leader in restorative and preventive dental care. She has been the team dentist for the Spokane Chiefs since 1982. Recognized by her dental peers, Smith is the recipient of numerous honors. Most notably, her distinctions include the Washington State Dental Association President’s Award and the ADA’s Geriatric Oral Care Award.
Dr. Mary Smith continues to an instrumental voice in dental education. She speaks nationally to dental students on dental practice trends and business operations. Other lecture appearances include Sports Trauma, HIPAA: Facts or Fiction, and Leadership.
After serving on the American Dental Association Board of Trustees from 2006-2010, Dr. Smith enrolled at Gonzaga University. She completed her MBA in Health Care Management in May 2013.
Dr. Smith is a wife and mother of three. Her eldest daughter, Alicia works part time at North Cedar Dental. Alicia is married to Marshall is the mother of two boys, Griffin and Beckett. After touring with Holiday on Ice for two years, her daughter, Stephanie, retired from professional figure skating and now works at USAA. She lives in San Antonio, TX with her husband, Stephen, and sons, George and Robert. Her son, Jeff, played Division 1 hockey at Rochester Institute of Technology and majored in Psychology. He has played professional hockey in Europe for the past 5 years, and lives in Spokane with his wife, Annessa, in the off season.
Steve, her husband, is an avid fisherman keeping the family’s freezer stocked with fish. In his spare time, he works out of the home as a hair stylist.
